drift, perspectives in surfing

Last Saturday I received an email from the journalist/photographer/half Brazilian Jamie Brisick, saying that he was in São Paulo and would like to meet me and try to get some waves here in Santos.

Master wood shaper Felipe Siebert and I are about to release a limited edition surfboard. This project is the first collaboration between an shaper and an artist here in Brazil, and I hope it paves the way for many more.

Last April I had the chance to go to Yokohama, Japan for the Greenroom Festival. It was my first time in Asia, and after the stress of curating the second (and probably last) Santos SurfArt Festival, the trip to Japan was a big gift to myself with the help of one of the biggest surf legends in Brazil, Mr. Christian Wolthers from Viking Surfboards.

Ted Grambeau has a seemingly limitless capacity for creating image after iconic image from location after location around the world. His ability to meld water and light, art with photo-journalism, and reality with the surreal make the Australian photographer a stand-out in any category.
