The Best Goods: The Quiet Life

When it comes to street wear, a lot of it might look better on a gallery wall than on you. Not to say it doesn’t look rad, but unless you’re into continually “making a statement” or want cross-armed students analyzing your shirt, you might want something a little toned down. After looking through the fall collection from The Quiet Life, a brand that emerged from the busy, artistic mind of Andy Mueller, we picked out a few items for those with a simpler taste still looking for something creative.
One of our favorite designs from QL’s fall collection is the Professor Crew. It’s just a plain sweatshirt with the QL mustache logo, equipped with elbow patches that say, “yeah I might look comfortable and relaxed, but I’m just taking a break from my hundred page thesis on Proust.”
It’s also worth mentioning that with each season The Quiet Life puts out a Good Cause shirt, donating the profits to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This time around, they collaborated with Evan Hecox for the Good Cause design. Or if charity’s just not your thing, you can go with other more design-y goods like the Razzmatazz shirt.
Amongst other things, Mueller is also a pretty darn good photographer. The QL’s passion for the craft comes through more than once in their products, as seen on the “Shoot Me” tee. Showing some support for budding photographers, The Quiet Life just released the second volume of The Camera Club. It’s a compilation of submissions from shooters of all skill levels. Publishing the work of aspiring unknown artists is always something Drift will support.
The fall collection is out in brick and mortars now and should be available off their site in the coming weeks.
