Inspiration at Barker Hanger

Rin Tanaka, the vintage hound behind the Freedamn books, has put together a massive cultural extravaganza this weekend at the Santa Monica Airport. Vintage clothing obsessives will be traveling far and wide to show their wares and talk shop within the cavernous confines of the Barker Hanger. We all know that reusing clothes is good for your style and for the planet, so some positive vibes go to Rin for making such a grand effort to get the point across to the fashion community.
There’s an art component of the show, too, which will showcase the work of Mitch Abshere/101 Fin Co., Andy & Ashley Davis, Cooperfish, Gato Heroi, Kookboxx/Joel Tudor and Tyler Warren among others. It’s $35 to get in, but odds of being able to hang out with some of these rad folks in a fairly eclectic setting are excellent.
