Hearing for Clean Water in Malibu, Next Thursday

64 times this year, the beaches in Malibu violated water quality standards during the dry weather months. The waves at first point had to be firing on more than a few of those smelly days. While floating suprises in the lineup might keep the crowds down, I’m sure the locals would prefer to surf right hand peelers without getting sick, crowded or not. Due to pressure from the local surfing community, the Malibu Surfing Association and Surfrider’s “Clean Water at the ‘Bu” campaign, LA’s Regional Water Quality Board is holding a hearing on November 5 to finally do something about it.

Update from the Transparent Sea Voyage

We made a post a little while back on the launch of the Transparent Sea Voyage, a tri-maran kayak trip organized by Dave Rastovich that follows the path of migratory humpback whales from Byron Bay to Sydney.
